Dehradun the capital city of the state of Uttarakhand is one of the oldest cities of India, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas at about 640 meters above mean sea level. Jet Airways, Indigo and Air-India operate daily flights to Dehradun from Delhi and Mumbai.Dehradun railway station has service to major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Trivandrum, Vadodara and Varanasi. Some fast trains running to and from Dehradun include the Shatabdi Express, Jan Shatabdi Express and Nanda Devi Express.
